Community Connections: volunteers supporting people with learning disabilit
This project is to employ a volunteer co-ordinator to recruit and train 15-25 volunteers to work on a one to one basis with 25-30 people with learning disabilities. Volunteers will support the beneficiary group to access and take part in mainstream community activities and reach their full potential. The project also aims to reduce the social isolation of carers by providing them with opportunities to pursue individual interests and share their experiences with other carers.

This project will work with local young people to prepare them to take part in the decision making process in their area and to ensure that service providers deliver advice and information services in the Strath rather than forcing young people to travel considerable distances to access these services. The grant will fund salary costs required to deliver a number of services and courses to young people.
PRA (Pride, Respect & Ambition)
This project will transform the external environment of the school. This will include the development of garden areas, landscaping, seating, and shelters to provide a visually pleasing and stimulating environment. In addition seating in the school drama theatre will be replaced to provide a valuable resource for both school and community use. This one year grant will fully fund all materials and construction works and the replacement of the seats of the drama theatre.
Enhancing Employability Programme
This project will prepare young people leaving school for employment or further education. The activities run will include self confidence, personal budgeting, interpersonal skills, preparation for interviews and dressing for confidence. This 3 year project will benefit 540 S4 & S5 pupils within Perth and Kinross who are disengaging from formal education. This three year grant will fully fund sessional trainer costs, venue hire, refreshment costs, travel costs and materials.
(15)(STV N) Renovate Mid-Atholl Pavilion
The project will completely renovate the existing sports pavilion and recreation park facilities at Ballinluig, Perthshire. This will include upgrading the toilet and changing room facilites, fitting a new kitchen, replumbing and rewiring the pavilion building, improving security and perimeter fencing, improving parking facilities and renewing pitch floodlighting.
Perth Climbing Wall (Community Spaces Scotland)
The school will build a functional and versatile climbing wall within the games hall at Perth Grammar School which will benefit the community of Muirton. Income generated from extracurricular hire of the hall would be used to cover training, staff and equipment costs. The grant will be used to pay for training costs for staff/senior pupils, equipment so that disabled users can access facility and the construction of the climbing wall.
Promoting independence, wellbeing and rekindling friendships
This group will use the funding to continue the Horizon Lunch Club for older people from the Aberfeldy community including outlying villages. The club supports the older people by helping to reduce isolation and loneliness, and by encouraging members to take part in social activities and interact through a range of other activities including basic IT skills support. This trust will use the funding to establish a new post of Community Development Officer. This will enable the Trust to build capacity as it works to achieve objectives set in it's Community Action Plan which which will build community cohesion and collaboration, whilst increasing volunteer capacity.
This group will use funding to deliver a programme of outdoor activities focused on improving the wellbeing of vulnerable young people who have disengaged with school or employment.
