Drawing on Memories - WW2 Commemorative Project
The Gardens of East Lodge Preservation Trust have been awarded a grant to undertake a variety of activities that will commemorate the end of WW2 and in particular, mark the events that took place at the historic gardens during the war years. Children will record the memories of older residents and this information used to create various artworks, decorations and postcards. An exhibit will be held to display these works with the Gardens own war archive collection.
Walden 1647
The group will hold a programme of events to involve local people in learning about their heritage by commemorating the Saffron Walden debates of 1647. The activities will be held over five days and will include re-enactments, information stalls, demonstrations, parades and presentations.
