Recipient Org: Description Founded in 1963, Age Concern Surrey (now operating as Age UK Surrey) is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee, not having a share capital. The charity promotes the wellbeing of older people over the age of 50 within the county and aims to help make their lives as fulfilling and enjoyable as possible. These services are delivered by the charity's staff team (including around 30 full-time and 35 part-time staff), along with around 233 volunteers or helpers. Age UK Surrey has 4 Trustees. _x000D_ _x000D_ Designed to improve the experience of later life, creating positive opportunities and tackling disadvantage, services include provision of information and advice, Help at Home Scheme, Men in Sheds Project, computer drop-in centre, advocacy, counselling, befriending, health and wellbeing activities such as walks and cycling, and home help services to help people live independently for longer. Additionally, the charity manages the Shop Mobility service on behalf of Guildford Borough Council, with approximately 1,800 user trips per year. Footcare is also offered along with home visiting and befriending services. A range of services and products is also promoted. In the finacial year to 31st March 2016, Age UK Surrey supported almost 16,000 older people and delivered new projects.
