Recipient Org: Description Kingdom Fruit CIC is a social enterprise set up in January 2014 by a group of Christians to address food poverty in the low income areas of the Borough of Elmbridge. The aim is to provide a low cost, convenient source of good quality fresh fruit and vegetables. As well as those struggling on low incomes, the service aims to benefit the elderly, the less mobile and those without access to a car or internet shopping._x000D_ _x000D_ Kingdom Fruit also aims to be a vehicle for community building at a grassroots level. Selling fruit and vegetables in the community gives it's staff and volunteers the opportunity to engage with people on a regular basis, to hear their stories and listen to their concerns. Using an Asset Based approach to Community Development, the CIC will discover people's skills and interests and connect people in the community with each other, reducing social isolation and encouraging community led innovation._x000D_ _x000D_ The CIC employs 2 part staff, has a management committee of 3 Directors and has 4 individuals volunteering to support the project.
