Recipient Org: Description Age Concern Banstead (ACB) began operating in 1959 and registered as an independent registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in 2014. ACB aims to promote the well-being of local older people by providing services to help them live safely, contentedly and independently in their own homes (for as long as they want to), and make their own informed choices. ACB improves the lives of the local elderly population on several levels: _x000D_ • Offering a free advice and signposting service from the ACB office open 5 days each week._x000D_ • Employing two Domiciliary Support Workers who visit clients and arrange for specialist services and support_x000D_ • Providing a befriending scheme which links volunteers with the elderly to visit on a regular basis._x000D_ • Running a transport scheme where volunteers take elderly clients to hospital and other health care appointments_x000D_ • Maintaining a brand new specially adapted minibus to take groups of elderly on day trips and to ACB clubs. There are currently two ACB lunch clubs_x000D_ • Facilitating an 'Ageing Well' Day each September_x000D_ ACB has a Management Committee of 11 people, 4 part-time workers and around 100 volunteers.
