Recipient Org: Description Limpsfield Grange is a Surrey County Council funded residential Special School for girls aged 11 to 16. Students have a wide range of needs, including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, speech, language and communication difficulties, behavioural difficulties, dyslexia, and medical problems such as epilepsy. The school is based in Oxted (Tandridge) and has around 70 students. Many of the students are on the autistic spectrum and some are in care or are 'looked after' children. Many are also from deprived backgrounds. At Limpsfield Grange, girls are taught in small classes with teachers and classroom assistants who are specially trained to deal with the complex issues the girls are facing. The main aim of the school is to provide a stable, positive learning environment. The school runs several GCSE courses alongside vocational, life skills and college courses. The school also runs a Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) scheme and has Bronze, Silver and Gold groups. The DofE scheme is an important part of the school's aim to give the students opportunities to push their boundaries and fulfil their potential. Limpsfield Grange has around 50 staff, 4 volunteers and is managed by 5 Trustees.
