Recipient Org: Description | Community Golf CIC is a Community Interest Company with the aim of 'taking golf into the community'. Established in 2013, the organisation aims to allow people to play community golf, build stronger communities, and ultimately, to make golf fun._x000D_ _x000D_ The CIC uses specially adapted equipment to provide 'pop-up' golf activities 90% of which are delivered inside. The adapted sport has a no frills format and faster play programmes to provide a positive experience and greater levels of engagement with the sport. In 2013/14 over 2,000 individuals benefited from Community Gold activities across 28 sites and the company has worked with partners such as Croydon College, Young Epilepsy and The Grange. In 2014/15 the aim is to have engaged with 10,000 young people across 50 sites in London and Surrey._x000D_ _x000D_ Community Golf has 1 full time member of staff, 7 part time members of staff and 8 volunteers currently involved. The CIC has three Directors, all of whom are involved as Directors in a voluntary capacity. Two of the Directors are iinvolved on a fully voluntary basis, one of whom is the Youth Development Manager for England Golf, while the other is the Sported Business Development Mentor for the Managing Director. |
