Recipient Org: Description | YMCA East Surrey (formerly Reigate and Redhill YMCA) has been operating since 1871. It is a registered charity and charitable company limited by guarantee with the aim of providing opportunities for people to develop, especially those who are vulnerable or disadvantaged, and offering a range of wholly inclusive, local services such as sport and fitness, counselling, supported housing, youth work, children's play schemes and volunteering opportunities. In 2015/16 12,958 people benefitted from the services, including 3,354 with some kind of special need from across all ages, and nearly 6,500 children and young people aged under 16. The charity's health and well-being services encompass a fully inclusive gym and extensive fitness classes at its Princes Road Sports and Community Centre, specialised sessions for people with long term health conditions and people with disabilities, preventative services such as weight management and health checks, and outreach services into the community, including walking for health. In 2015-16 over 4,350 people benefited from these services, and the charity's Sports Centre was visited over 80,000 times throughout the year. YMCA East Surrey has 14 Trustees. |
