Recipient Org: Description Reigate & Banstead District CAB aims to provide the advice people need for the problems they face as well as improving the policies and practices that affect people's lives. Since 1939, the charity has provided free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone in the local community on their rights and responsibilities. Topics cover a broad spectrum including debt, welfare benefits, housing, employment, relationships, consumer, immigration and legal issues. Last year, the charity saw 10,893 clients. _x000D_ _x000D_ The CAB also has a voluntary Research & Campaign Team who observe and capture the trends of advice and information sought by clients and research the issues which may be behind these enquiries. For example, the charity is currently looking into the impact locally on the new Care Act on clients, and into the issues of privately renting clients, with the intention of also researching the social exclusion and isolation faced by older members of the community, with particular emphasis on older men._x000D_ _x000D_ The charity has 1 full-time and 13 part-time members of staff and 89 volunteers, supported by 9 trustees.
