Recipient Org: Charity Number 276933
Recipient Org: Description Our main aims are to address inequality, to enhance people's lives at grassroots level, and to empower them to help themselves. In our society, living in a homely environment is considered a necessity and people suffer great stress, loss of self-respect and feelings of inadequacy if they cannot provide for themselves and/or their family. This can lead to an inability to cope, resulting for example, in the unnecessary termination of tenancies and the accumulation of debt. Our work plays an important part in alleviating these problems at a personal level and is of wider benefit in building communities. Our objectives are to: Make housing safer, adequate and more appropriate, improve people's physical, mental and emotional health, encourage the recycling and re-use of household goods and to promote the development of sustainable communities.
