Recipient Org: Description | The Helen Rollason Cancer Charity is dedicated to championing quality of life for everyone living with or affected by Cancer. We are here to support men and women with all types of cancer at all stages; newly diagnosed, throughout and post treatment, as well as their wider support network of family, friends and carers. We do this through the provision of support centres and hubs, complementary therapies, counselling and advice. We are a charity who receives no Government funding but our services are delivered free of charge to support cancer patients' emotional well being alongside their medical treatment. We also support those people who are caring for, living with or are close to the person with the cancer diagnosis. We are currently supporting people with 28 different types of cancer. We have 90 clients, who registered with the Charity between 2008 and 2015, who are still regularly using our services at Rochelle House – our Support Centre in Lawn Lane, Chelmsford. The work we do really does make a difference: “Both myself and my family would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything that you, Rachel, Caroline, Wendy and the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity have done for me over the past year. I feel like I have won the biggest battle of my life and it wouldn’t have happened or been possible without the compassion and care you gave to me. I owe you a debt that can never be repaid, my children have their dad back and my wife has me around to drive her mad once again. My family is complete once more, thank you all so much.” Richard 2016 |
