Recipient Org: Description The objective of Teatro is to provide a range of performing arts programmes and activities for those disaffected young people who are at risk of being excluded from accessing mainstream provision, in particular those with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, at risk of educational failure and social exclusion, identified as being at risk, looked after children as well as those who are not in education, employment or training. We aim to provide a well-structured and supportive programme which uses performing arts to develop transferable skills in communication, problem solving, team building, developing confidence and raising self-esteem. This will enable those young people to become more effective communicators and ultimately more employable. We will run weekly workshops run by highly skilled practitioners which cover a range of activities from acting and singing to dance and music. There will also be an opportunity for performance.
