Recipient Org: Description We are a youth centre based in the Ladywood District in Birmingham. We work with young people aged 11-19 to provide various activities and personal development opportunities and support young people in the transition to adulthood. We are accessed by local young people many of which are from BME Communities. The Youth Centre is seen by young people as a neutral centre where they can socialise with other young people from different ethnic religious and social backgrounds. We offer a wide range of youth work interventions such as drop in youth clubs, structured projects, such as driving theory, homework support, sports, music and arts and crafts. We also deliver a young women's group, a group for young people with learning difficulties and a Music academy where young people can learn to play an instrument, vocal coaching and performance skills. Many of the projects we deliver are planned and developed by young people. The centre provides local young people with a safe space to meet friends and provides an alternative to hanging around on the streets. E R Mason also work with unemployed young people and offer mentoring support to help them back into education, employment or training.
