Recipient Org: Description Young Bristol is a youth-driven charity that works to offer a choice of opportunities, experience, training and accredited learning for young people. Our core activities focus on young people aged 8 to 19 years old. We believe that every young person has the right to discover what theyre capable of. We achieve this by making all of our programmes freely available to all young people (with some age restrictions where appropriate). Through a city-wide membership of 25 clubs, we offer outdoor water and land-based activities and a variety of arts, music and media projects through our youth clubs, schools and other community venues to engage, stimulate and involve all aspects of the community. The National Citizens Service is a national programme sponsored by the Government for which Young Bristol has been delivering since 2011, with our current contract expiring in 2018. NCS is aimed at 16 and 17 years old that gives them the opportunity to learn new skills, grow in confidence and benefit their local community through social action projects and volunteering opportunities. The Instructor Training Scheme recruits and trains young people to gain experience, site specific and nationally accredited instructor qualifications in a range of outdoor activities.
