This project will continue and expand the current Befriending/Volunteer Project (funded until last Sept by Community Fund) aimed at increasing independence and self confidence for blind people in Newcastle, whose visual impairment might otherwise leave them isolated and housebound. The befriending service will be provided through trained volunteers and will also facilitate access to relevant services.
