Men's mental health group (360G-BirminghamCC-101044)

£5,000

men's mental health group that will offer a range of activities from fishing, to bell boating(canoeing) to music to blacksmithing. We already have the equipment and transport for these activities but we are seeking funding for staffing and food costs. We would like to offer food as part of this program as many of the men who access our services don’t have cooking facilities, live in hostels or find it harder to cook for themselves as their mental health worsens. The men’s mental health support group would provide a space for men to be vulnerable about their struggles with the support of experienced staff and create space for them to learn new skills. There will be a particular focus on activities that involve physical exercise as we know that exercise helps improve mental health and thus improve quality of life.
