Recipient Org: Description | We deliver a holistic, rehabilitative service empowering male offenders with multiple, complex problems to cease offending behaviour and become fulfilled, healthy, contributing members of the community. We support beneficiaries to achieve positive mental health, cease substance misuse and overcome profound life challenges leading to durable recovery and lifestyle change. We work with c.120 beneficiaries per year, some early-release prisoners at an hour’s notice providing intensive support: -Three levels of supported housing: 24/7 staffed support unit, 18 flats for next level of independence and ‘move-on’ properties -Intensive one-to-one support and group courses include ‘Introduction to Recovery’, ‘Relapse Prevention’, ‘Principles of Addiction’ and ‘Principles of Recovery’, ‘Change of Lifestyle Programme’ (leading to "Employability Programme" which includes opportunities for volunteering and assistance with enrolment and throughout college courses), ‘Dealing with Anxiety’, ‘Dealing with Depression’, ‘Dealing with my Thoughts’, ‘SMART Recovery’, ‘Dealing with Offending’ and groups for beneficiaries at each of our recovery ‘levels’, Dual Diagnosis Counselling by qualified professional. -Provision of domestic and personal necessities -Support to rebuild a functional life including opening a bank account, finance/debt management, gaining skills/qualifications towards re-entering the job market. -Crisis intervention/prevention, accompanying clients to hospital, advocacy, family restoration and support -Mentoring -Chaperoning those at risk. |
