Recipient Org: Description We are a mature, trusted LGBTQ+/HIV community asset, with a lived experience base, delivering services for/with LGBTQ+ children and young people (CYP) and their families, and HIV support/prevention services, across Calderdale and Kirklees, working with LGBTQ+ people as a protected characteristic group. We aim to support people to make informed choices, build healthy relationships, live positive lives free of stigma, marginalisation and discrimination, and influence wider system change. We deliver this via: -- co-designed/produced self-care resources, 1:1 work, counselling, groupwork and family support, face-to-face and online, maximising accessibility (seeing people in their chosen settings, e.g. school-based support enhancing access for Muslim LGBTQ+ CYP) and being responsive to need -- facilitating LGBTQ+ voice, e.g. through voice/influence groups, mystery shopping, training and consultative work with partner agencies/professionals, supporting intentional provision of culturally competent services. Our services are facing high/increasing demand: hence needing to sustain and grow/develop them in prioritised ways. Responding to expressed need/demand, we plan to develop a new Calderdale monthly play & stay group for LGBTQ+ children aged <=11 together with their parents/carers, extending provision beyond its current 11+ focus, enhancing journeys through childhood and into adulthood. We have recently secured funding for equivalent new provision in Kirklees.
