Recipient Org: Description Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, a modern, pioneering palliative care service supporting babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions and their families through traumatic situations and journeys, when they need us most. Time can be short for our families and the quality of the time they have together is what matters. Our main beneficiaries are babies and children with life-shortening conditions and their families across West Yorkshire (Kirklees, Calderdale, Bradford, Leeds, and Wakefield). We support them through distressing situations, when they need us most. To give an idea of scale, we currently support 178 babies/children with life-shortening or life-threatening conditions and 559 families from across the diverse, multi-ethnic communities we serve. Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDIC) is the sudden and unexpected death of a child aged between one and eighteen years. We support SUDIC families, families whose children die unexpectedly and we work directly with West Yorkshire Police to ensure we receive referrals from any family who need us, across West Yorkshire, around 115 families a year.
