Recipient Org: Description Healthy Minds is a mental health charity working across Calderdale’s communities. Our vision is for everyone in Calderdale to have better mental health. We listen to our community and speak up for positive change, promoting awareness and reducing stigma by partnering with local organisations to provide services, education, and resources that empower people to take control of their mental health. We offer support to anyone who identifies as having mental health needs. We define mental health not just as the absence of distress but as a state of wellbeing in which each person realises their own potential. Time Out is Healthy Minds' project for children and young people across Calderdale. Time Out provides young people aged 7-19 access to a range of creative health activities such as arts and crafts, sports and outdoors, or singing and drama that are always free to access. The project has been co-designed by young people, who told us that ‘finding your thing’ - finding something they love to do or connect with – helps them to feel good and stay well. The project also runs mental health education workshops in local primary and secondary schools to help raise awareness and de-stigmatise topics relating to emotional wellbeing.
