Recipient Org: Description Citizens Advice Calderdale provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone in relation to their rights and responsibilities. We value diversity, promote equity and challenge discrimination. We aim to help people find 'their' right way forward in relation to the problems they face through the provision of advice in areas such as debt, employment, welfare benefits, energy and housing. During 24/25 we helped 6225 people in relation to over 25,400 individual problems (which equates to over 4 per client) using face to face, email, web, telephone and video platform access channels. We offer casework services to the most vulnerable Calderdale residents in relation to debt, welfare benefits and energy and where required, access to specialists in relation to consumer and housing by way of the Citizens Advice network. Clients are assessed using our holistic needs tool, providing an individual and bespoke advice package. We work closely with the extensive Calderdale partnership network to ensure that our clients are supported with all their needs. We also seek to influence policy and practice through local and national research and campaigns, with our latest focus being the Green Paper on the changes to disability benefits.
