Recipient Org: Description WomenCentre is a well-established, impactful by-women-for-women charitable organisation, with 40 years’ experience of supporting women experiencing domestic abuse, trauma and a complex web of related issues/needs and vulnerabilities across Calderdale and in Kirklees. Our vision is for women to be free and to feel safe to lead fulfilled and meaningful lives. Our mission is to support and empower women to achieve a better quality of life, around our 4 pillars by offering trauma informed services. Prevention - to prevent escalation of trauma and abuse through a range of early interventions, highlighted by our approaches to girls and young women. Intervention - through our domestic abuse and health and well- being services where we support, listen, advocate and help to promote women's safety. Recovery- offering services to aid recovery e.g. counselling and a range of specialist groups. Empowerment to provide women with opportunities though our interventions to move forward in their lives following support. In Calderdale we offer specialist domestic abuse practical help with issues such as managing debt and housing, emotional support, and advocacy for women in crisis, counselling, and supported housing with a further offer in Kirklees, where we focus on women’s mental wellbeing/health.
