Recipient Org: Description | We run programmes locally that support women, children and young adults from diverse ethnic backgrounds, primarily who are newly settled and from challenging socio-economic backgrounds to maximise their impact and make positive changes for local people. Our activities include education, employability training & development; cultural activities; health & well-being - all addressing needs in the community with family learning and educational support activities for parents, children and young people who live in Toxteth and neigbouring areas. Our work: From a Steering group of BME residents, and an informal advisory group we formalized the work we were doing in 2015 to help support local migrant women from African, Arabic and Asian communities from newly settled or settled. communities Our activities include education, employability training & development; cultural activities; health & wellbeing - all addressing needs in the community with family learning and educational support activities for parents, children and young people who live in Toxteth and neigbouring areas. Our work supports women to develop entrepreneurship and improve their literacy and numeracy skills with Esol, reading, writing & maths booster support for children, young adults and parents. We also run school holiday activity clubs for primary school children with a range of fun activities that have been running for nearly two years now and in that time we have had over 300 different children using our club from local primary schools that are accessible for all 7-11’s to have healthy meals and active sports. |
