Recipient Org: Description | Our aim is to give access to creative digital arts and technology activities to people from disadvantaged communities. We want to ensure that all people have access to creative activities to help them express themselves and learn new skills through having fun in a relaxed learning environment. We work in a number of creative fields including; Animation, Photography, Graphic Design, Audio Production, Film-Making, Computer Game Design, Music Making and Creative Coding to name a few. Our portfolio of activities is constantly developing, allowing us to work with a range of commercial, charitable and public sector organisations on a variety of creative projects. Our work is funded in a number of ways including commissions, tenders & grants; the majority of which come from the publicly funded arts and culture sector. We improve people's knowledge and understanding of digital arts, media and technology. This inspires people to have confidence in their ability to learn new skills and empowers them to utilise their skills in a positive way, which helps to enhance their lives. Learning these new skills enhances mental health and well-being. We use group work and social interaction-based learning to help improve participants’ communication and interpersonal skills. Creative expression helps to build confidence, and the acquisition of new knowledge and technical skills helps to improve employability prospects for our participants. Overall, having a positive social impact on the wider community. |
