Our activities are delivered under 3 pillars: Wellbeing, Counselling and Education. In 2021 we provided advice and information to 765 individuals and 336 adults, children and young people received 3938 sessions of one-to-one support and counselling One in Five of the people we help are young men or boys Our Wellbeing Programme provides support to individuals who need immediate emotional and practical support focusing on three key areas: stabilisation, information and preparation. Active signposting also helps them with housing, finances and medical concerns, as well as seeking specialist support for issues such as addiction. For those who need longer term support, they learn techniques that help them prepare for counselling or therapy. This programme also runs peer support groups which enable individuals to build supportive relationships and develop their resilience. For those who have completed 1-1 support, it provides access to ongoing advice and information which helps embed any improvements in their health and wellbeing. A Trauma-informed Counselling Service enables individuals to work on a deeper level and address the trauma they have experienced, building their self-awareness, developing healthy coping strategies and improving their physical and mental health. Other areas that are explored include personal safety and healthy/unhealthy relationships. Our Education Programme provides a variety of opportunities in the community which focus on raising awareness and prevention. Working in partnership with other organisations, such as local schools and colleges, training is provided to vulnerable adults and young people as well as to professionals to enable them to work more effectively with those impacted by sexual abuse and violence.
