Recipient Org: Description Alt Valley Community Trust (AVCT) is a community-based charitable company that supports acutely disadvantaged communities of North East Liverpool. The Trust was formed following an 18-month community occupation of a local secondary school that was marked for closure; the campaign successfully saved the school. The overarching objective of the Trust is to support individual and community wellbeing by working in partnership to improve facilities and services for the local community. AVCT delivers the following activities: Adult Education and Training - a range of vocational and informal adult education programmes Employability support - including transferrable employability skills, formal vocational training, apprenticeships and work placements Community Engagement and Community consultation - including monthly Community Engagement Events Elderly Support Activities - including active outreach, digital inclusion, social events, signposting to community services, intergenerational projects. Community Arts - including running a Youth Theatre and Theatre for Social Change, podcast training, creation and publishing, music training and studio recording. Sports, Health and Wellbeing activities - including the management of 3 community sports facilities and the delivery of a range of exercise and activity programmes.
