Recipient Org: Description | Manchester Settlement is a busy community charity that is based in one of the most deprived and culturally diverse areas within Manchester. The charity delivers an ever-changing palette of services to meet the developing needs of individuals, families and communities. Our Purpose Statement is – Stronger Communities Together Our vision is to see Safe, Skilled, Healthy and Connected Adults Financially Stable Individuals and Families A Strong Community Infrastructure Children Achieving Success in School, and Life Powerful And Productive Young People Our Values: We will always: • Respect the strengths and needs of all our stakeholders • Believe that people are most powerful when connected to communities • Be truthful and transparent • Be brave enough to challenge boundaries Partnerships for Health Creation Our multi service community hub is an extremely busy resource for the whole community. 7 days a week the hub is used for services that we provide directly, or through partnerships with diverse volunteer led, grassroots organisations. We have continuously demonstrated that having the OMVCS grant has been a platform to secure other grants that provide for such a rich programme of activities and outcomes. In 2022/23 the OMCVS grant value has been enhanced 400%. Our Services Nursery and other childcare services – over 150 families every week access our formal childcare settings, where they also take advantage of our wider community hub offer Family Services – 80+ families are registered with our “Start Well Programme”. The programme includes access to volunteer parent mentors, and community Parent and Child groups. Our community reputation gives parents confidence to access programmes of expert and peer led education and support covering topics such as Foetal Alcohol Syndrome Dental Health Mental Health Baby Massage / Sensory Health and Safety in the home Communicating with Children Help for SEND families Referral Hub Community work We have had a substantial relationship with 850+ adult service users in the last 12 months, with many more unrecorded contacts. We deliver a variety of services and activities for adults which are engaging and have positive impact on the socially isolated and vulnerable. The value we place in building relationships of trust means that many barriers to specialist services are being broken down.
