Recipient Org: Description We run activities locally that support women, children, and young adults in challenging socio-economic backgrounds and from diverse newly settled or settled communities and help by providing education, training and cultural activities to gain or enhance employability skills, health, and well-being - all addressing needs in the community such as improving their literacy and numeracy skills with Esol, and Maths/numeracy skills. Our current activities include supporting young women and mums to develop entrepreneurship, leadership and employable skills. We have recently delivered a parent recovery mental health & well-being, programme developing self-confidence training, and engaging both children and adults to learn together. Other educational, cultural and environmental activities ie beekeeping, Maths English, ICT and ESOL. Our work with young people continues the theme of empowerment. we have delivered several violence reduction projects using participatory performance around knife crime and other relationship and social issues relevant to GenZ's audience. Other projects include HAF Holiday programmes promoting healthy eating through play for children to alleviate food poverty and also supporting children to make healthy choices by learning cooking skills and menu designs. Our children are encouraged to think about the environment take action and participate in environmental and climate change activities as well as engage with sport and adventure to develop their creative imagination and critical thinking through play.
