Recipient Org: Description Youth Federation are working in partnership with one of our members, Seacombe Allandale Amateur Boxing Club (SAABC) on this project. Youth Federation’s mission is to engage, empower and enrich the lives of young people aged 8-25 across Cheshire, Halton, Warrington and Wirral, creating a society where all young people feel safe, respected and supported to reach their full potential. Our holistic, wrap-around approach helps to annually improve the lives of over 16,000 young people with a wide range of complex needs through a range of targeted programmes, including: -employment, education and training programmes -social action and volunteering -intensive mentoring -1-2-1 and group early intervention mental health support -female peer mental health support led by young women -promoting Youth Voice - providing platforms to campaign on things that are important to young people, such as increasing physical activity, reducing health inequalities and knife crime -4 youth boards empowering young people with lived experience to help steer the charity An important part of our work is our infrastructure advice and guidance for youth organisations, where we support with capacity building, accessing funding, growing membership/volunteers, etc. Through this we started working with Seacombe Allandale Amateur Boxing Club. SAABC was formed in 2014 in response to a need for boxing facilities in the local area and a high number of crime and anti-social behaviour by young people experiencing complex issues and demonstrating challenging behaviour. This grassroots organisation provides weekly boxing and keep fit sessions for young people from Seacombe and surrounding areas that not only improves their physical health and wellbeing, it supports them mentally, providing character-building, self-discipline, anger management and life skills. SABBC were severely affected by the Covid-19 lockdowns, where they have struggled to get back on track as a club and replace the equipment that was damaged during the closure.
