Recipient Org: Description Roe Valley Residents Association aims to improve the Quality of Life for the residents within the Hospital Lane estate, and the wider Greystone Ward within Limavady town. The organisation does this through the planning and provision of educational classes, workshops, training programmes, environmental workshops, Health and Well-being activities and social events. Project Aims and Objectives: • To provide support in education, health and well-being for all residents within the NRA by providing a variety of programmes such as youth clubs accredited educational courses and health and well-being courses. • To support families living in the NR area by offering positive parenting workshops, family focused initiatives and activities and offering early intervention initiatives for children and young people. • To improve the level of service provision to the residents within the Hospital Lane estate through weekly advice surgeries. • To sustain and enhance existing collaborative working with statutory agencies and other community organisations • To recruit, engage and build capacity of volunteers in the organisation • To maintain the core staff in the community organisation to source, secure and roll out additional funding for programme delivery • To improve the physical and environmental appearance of the Neighbourhood Renewal Area through a range of projects that will support and encourage residents to take pride in their area. The project is delivered using a variety of mechanisms. A range of programmes provided are Essential Skills Literacy & Numeracy; IT courses, First Aid courses, Health related programmes such as walking clubs, information / awareness sessions, Craft Clubs, Personal and Social Development programmes, and Environmental Projects, women's projects, youth programmes (Employability & Good Relations), Luncheon clubs, savings clubs, as well as striving to build upon the Good Relations Work which is currently being carried out in the Hospital Lane estate. The success of the project is based on being delivered in a grassroots and person-centred approach that the core staff and management committee use in promoting engagement from traditionally hard to reach people.
