Recipient Org: Description The Project aims to deliver on the Outer West Neighbourhood Action plan in the Ballymagroarty Hazelbank and nearby areas of Derry city. This Action Plan is designed to reduce inequalities for residents by leading on social renewal, including health and education and community safety. It develops and organises training and events which seek to empower the community by increasing community capacity and strengthening community cohesion. We provide arts & craft classes, yoga, dance and boxercise, and a full active aging programme centred around a weekly luncheon club. We organise Health Events for the community, which include Health Checks and therapies. We organise seasonal events and a full Summer Festival, including bus trips for families. We organise and facilitate community education classes with The Recovery College and the North West Regional College. We provide advice services for residents, AccessNI vetting as an umbrella group and a befriending support service for those dealing with bereavement and life-limiting illness. We assist community groups with capacity building programmes and advice. We run a full youth provision service, including extended provision, and manage a 4G Pitch for various sporting groups.
