Recipient Org: Description Pips Upper Bann are constituted as the Public Initiative for the Prevention of Suicide and Self-harm. We are a registered charity with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland, founded by families who had been bereaved through suicide. Through such devastating experiences the families identified the need for a local group to provide services for those bereaved or distressed and to address the issues around suicide. Our three-fold strategy encompasses prevention, intervention and postvention. The services we provide include- - Helpline- Helpline available 9am to 9pm 7 days a week. - Bereavement Support Group - for those who have been bereaved through suicide to come together with other people who have also been bereaved and understand the grief they have all experienced. - Time for Change Group - for people who are lonely, isolated or depressed to connect with others and enjoy activities that are also conducive to well-being such as laughing yoga, cookery demos, bowing etc. - Walk and Talk Group - Our psychotherapist is present at the Walk and Talk (morning coffee and walks) and is available for anyone who may need to discuss any issues or make an appointment. - Presentations to Groups - House Calls - Counselling
