Recipient Org: Description Ballynafeigh Community Development Association (BCDA) operates as a community hub and resource centre promoting community development, good community relations and providing opportunities for dialogue and community engagement. The Association delivers our work to people irrespective of political, religious, class, or economic background. BCDA is the lead agency in the South Belfast Independent Advice Consortium and coordinates the South Belfast Welfare Reform Project and chairs the Belfast wide Tribunal Service, liaising with statutory agencies in relation to coordination, monitoring and delivery. BCDA’s own advice and free legal advice service delivers outreach sessions in Annadale, Ballynafeigh, Belvoir, Cregagh, Lisburn Road, Taughmonagh, Lower Ormeau . Donegall Pass, Markets and Sandy Row. Furthermore, BCDA is the lead agency the BCDA/Taughmonagh Health and social Wellbeing partnership which delivers initiatives for people of all ages across the life--cycle from children through to seniors. The Community House hosts partnership agencies supporting parents, carers and families with pre-school children (South Belfast Sure Start), adults with learning difficulties (The Skyway Club), advocating on behalf of people from ethnic minorities (Migrant Centre Northern Ireland, MCNI) and the Community House also supports independent groups and projects addressing many of life’s many challenges from alcoholism and drugs to anxiety, loss and loneliness- supporting 290 groups and projects via BCCDA's Capacity Chain over 2018/19. AS part of the South Belfast mental Health hub, BCDA also ,manages and coordinates a team of Talking Therapy practitioners who deliver counselling and life-coaching sessions via referrals from GPS from Mental Health Hub.
