Recipient Org: Description Upperlands Community Development Group was formed in 1994 and registered in 1999. The principal activity of Upperlands Community Development is to facilitate the improvement and development of social and economic conditions for the people living in the Upperlands area. 1 to reverse the deterioration of village amenities. 2 to reintroduce a sense of pride in the environment of the village. 3 to encourage sport and recreation facilities. 4 to develop sustainable sources of community income. 5 to facilitate cross community reconciliation and cultural understanding. We are a community group based in a rural location with approximately 600+ residents. There is a wide age range in our area - we only have 1 small village shop, 1 cafe, British Legion and no churches. We aim to provide activities for all the community - Mens Shed, Luncheon Club, Netball, Football, First Aid training, counselling services, childrens summer schemes, Cook IT programmes and seasonal events.
