Recipient Org: Description Counselling All Nations Services (CANS) is a registered Northern Ireland charity (Charity No.100444) based in rented offices in The Chinese Welfare Association in Belfast. We set up the charity to respond to the need to provide culturally sensitive counselling (in English or a common minority ethnic language) to adult people from the BAME community (Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic) living and working in Northern Ireland who are experiencing mental ill health and whose first language is not English. We aim to: • Address any emotional and psychological difficulties or issues affecting BAME people in Northern Ireland with greater focus on cultural sensitivity and cultural appropriateness • Improve the emotional and mental health of people from BAME communities in Northern Ireland • A free, multicultural, professional counselling service 7 days per week (including weekend and evening appointments) to members of BAME Communities in Northern Ireland either with bi-lingual counsellors or with the support of interpreters.
