Recipient Org: Description The Courthouse in Kesh is managed by The Courthouse Kesh Limited, comprising a Board of five Directors, who meet monthly to ensure that the activities continue to run in keeping with our vision - "To help ALL in our community by providing the best possible services in a loving and caring way". Our motto is "service delivery to meet local needs". Back in 2011 Share Ardess was established to address local needs in terms of foodbank provision, befriending and self-help with odd jobs for those who couldn't help themselves. This service grew and was added to in 2015 with the delivery of debt management advice in conjunction with Christians Against Poverty. These services were delivered, by volunteers, from the old courthouse building. With the growth of services being delivered came the realisation of a need for a better venue. Peter Quinn Consultancy was preparing an integrated village plan for Fermanagh District Council and at the public meeting held with local people it was agreed that the old courthouse site was ideal for redevelopment as a local services delivery hub. The viability of this redevelopment plan was then confirmed when Venturei undertook public consultation, met with various user groups and prepared a business plan. Focus group meetings were used to refine the needs. The Courthouse Kesh Limited was formed to take forward the redevelopment of the site and an architect-led design team was appointed to prepare plans, gain all statutory approvals, appoint a contractor and manage the capital construction contract. Work commenced in October 2018, was completed a year later and the new centre opened on 14th October 2019. The contract cost was £369,661 The centre has had the full support of the community in terms of availing of services and from providers in terms of delivering the services. A very well attended "Meet The Service Providers" event was held on 11th October 2019 - this giving group leaders the opportunity to meet the service providers ahead of delivery of programmes. In the first five months of operation over 3700 people have used the centre and, month by month, that tally was growing until we were forced to close on 17th March 2020 due to the pandemic lockdown. The following users contribute to the statistic : - 1. Health and Wellbeing groups meeting on Tuesday mornings and Thursday evenings. This service continued during lockdown with the delivery of activity packs to all participants ( part funded by NIHE ). 2. Life group meetings on Tuesday evenings and Wednesday mornings. The Tuesday evening group restarted on 12th May, meeting virtually, on Zoom. 3. In-Stitches craft group meeting on Thursday evenings. This was to expand into a community pharmacy awareness programme in May but now to be rescheduled for October ( part funded by CDHN - BCPP ) 4. Farm Family Skills evenings on Mondays in conjunction with DARD - CAFRE and part funded by them . Again cancelled in March and hopefully to commence in October / November. 5. Use by Praxis Care Homes for interviews and meetings generally on Thursday mornings but none since lockdown. 6. Men's shed / Women's space activities were in the course of planning for commencement after Easter but with no funding secured and lockdown announced this initiative did not get going. 7. Our drop-in cafe, serving light food brings in a large section of our community, allows them see the facilities and provides the encouragement for them to return for stigma-perceived addiction help - drugs, alcohol, gambling. The cafe provides that degree of anonymity essential to those most vulnerable and in need of confidential help. 8. The recipients of Share Ardess help have not been counted in the total users given as this support is delivered to them at their own homes. A new service was introduced "wellbeing call service" whereby 398 families were contacted on a red, amber or green frequency depending on needs daily, weekly or monthly. The funding support from CFNI ( Coronavirus ) was greatly appreciated in helping with the increased demand over the March to June period. The service continues to date. FODC supported our wellbeing calling service by part funding the costs. Our objective is to continue the much needed work undertaken up to lockdown, that instigated during lockdown and that planned as we grow our service delivery to the needy. The winter term shall be extremely challenging and we need to "keep connected" with those most in need
