Freedom Acts - Human Trafficking & Exploitation Project (360G-CR-1020443)

Mid-Ulster is an area with above average levels of migration by people from ethnic minority communities. Through their work they have found the area has high levels of migrant exploitation, human trafficking and sexual exploitation of vulnerable migrants. They will work under their “Freedom Acts” programme with young people to create resources and raise awareness and address the issues they face such as exploitation. They will develop ambassadors across the community, including from schools, community groups and frontline professionals to cascade the training and promote awareness around the issues these vulnerable migrants face. This will include highlighting the dangers of exploitation so that vulnerable people will be better equipped to avoid risky situations, raised awareness of trafficking resulting in less people in danger, and migrant workers being supported in their rights so they are less likely to be vulnerable and exploited.
