Young People's Support Service (360G-CR-1125373)

Dundee and Angus (WRASSAC) supports women, children and young people affected by rape, sexual abuse and exploitation. Dundee has the highest level of reported rapes in Scotland and the most common age category for victims of rape is 15 and under. WRASAC has seen a 39% increase in referrals for young women aged 13-19 in the last year. The grant will be used to employ a lead worker to develop and run an age-appropriate support service for young survivors of both genders aged 11-18. This work builds on a recent Comic Relief funded grant to identify and map the extent and nature of child sexual exploitation in Dundee and will help young people recover from the trauma of abuse and rape.
