The Girls Leadership through Sport project (360G-CR-1917900)
Girls in Kenya and Uganda experience high levels of gender-based violence, and lack opportunities, choices and assets. Through this project they will have the opportunity to participate in non-traditional sports (karate in Uganda, boxing in Kenya), learn about their rights and develop skills in money management, entrepreneurship and leadership. The project will also educate boys, parents and teachers about girl's rights. As a result, girls will have increased confidence and skills to speak out and influence change, the wider community will be less tolerant of violence and more supportive of girls, and partner organisations will be better able to advocate, monitor and learn from their work.
