Manchester Village Spartans Rugby Project (360G-CR-2746919)

Gay and bisexual young men are more likely to suffer poor mental and physical health and less likely to take part in sport than their peers. The Manchester-based project will train 60 young men aged 18-25 in rugby union. In groups of 20, each group will take part in a 12 week course and then be supported to continue playing at an appropriate level. The grant will pay for coaches, venues, promotion, equipment, coaching qualifications and some organisational overheads. The project will promote social integration through its inclusive model and lead to improved mental and physical heath amongst gay and bisexual men.
