Corona Virus Support (360G-CheshireCF-A548613)

East Cheshire Eye Society provides support to people affected by sight loss. A large part of this is helping people cope with the effects of loneliness, isolation and loss of confidence. The Corona Virus has meant that we have had to cancel all of our face-to-face social events and activities that we run for people with sight loss, removing a valuable source of physical and mental activity, enabling physical and mental wellbeing. The Corona Virus has also had a huge impact on our fundraising in that we have had to cancel our major fundraising event of the year, together with other smaller fundraising events and collections. We wish to apply for a grant to help cover some of those losses that would have paid towards the costs of maintaining staff to run a resource centre through the corona virus period, enabling us to continue to effectively givie advice and support, where possible equipment as well as run a telephone befriending service to those people we have identified as most at risk of loneliness and isolation through this difficult period.
