AmaSing Connect (360G-CheshireCF-A594604)

£2,000
Recipient Organization

AmaSing is applying to The Cheshire Community Foundation to help fund an online concert that will see 1000's of children from Cheshire take part online. This is part of a larger project Amasing has secured funding for. Due to the pandemic AmaSing has had to adapt and change the way we operate. AmaSing is currently hosting/running online music, dance and singing workshops with 1000s of children in their school bubbles/classes in school and children at home due to the current restrictions. The pandemic has made it impossible for our theatre concerts that see 1000s of children participate take place and have been cancelled. Last September we hosted our first online concert which same approximately 6000 children attend via Zoom online. This remarkable figure was made up of school class bubbles from the northwest and abroad. Due to the success of the concert we are now planning to host the second concert online which will reach even more children and schools. Please note that the figures quoted in the Number of Beneficiaries section below has come from our previous show data and is for online attendance only.

Recipient Org: Description AmaSing is an award winning inclusive Charity/ Community Arts organisation who believe Arts are for all to enjoy and work with thousands of young people and communities supporting mental health through arts. They have reached over 20,000 young people during the pandemic and work with over 250 schools and communities delivering inspiring and exciting arts projects. AmaSing works with all ages, needs, backgrounds and cultures and has successfully delivered huge theatre community concerts since 2018, hosted a number of live online shows since the pandemic started all reaching thousands of schools and children across the UK and abroad. AmaSing run arts workshops, festivals, clubs and creative arts sessions for all ages. They host weekly live online wellbeing singing/dancing sessions since the start of the pandemic connecting thousands of children in schools across the UK and abroad. AmaSing collaborate and partner with groups such as Chester Zoo, The Countess Charity, Cheshire Ice Cream Farm, Music for Life, The Joshua Tree Charity, Liverpool Football Club Community Foundation, Chester Football Club, Wrexham AFC Football Club, ALPSIT and Resonate Music Hub. There are two organisations that we operate. Amasing Projects CIC our community interest company and Amasing Arts the Charity who we are applying for funding from CFF. We set the charity up to receive donations from the CIC profits and to ensure grant money was safe and not at risk from the costs involved in running the CIC such as staffing, organisational costs and the huge theatre fees we undertake when running our huge community shows etc. All running costs of the Charity organisation are absorbed by the CIC therefore any funds or grants that the charity receives are spent solely on the children and the charity purpose they are applied for. Charity status for Amasing Arts was granted in June 2020, right at the start of the pandemic. Due to the pandemic and the national lock down, theatres closed, public mixing not allowed and schools split into bubbles so we could not generate the revenue we normally did from our shows and Amasing nearly ceased trading. This was an extremely hard time for the organisation but against all odds AmaSing didn’t stop working throughout and carried on reaching thousands of young people through the arts supporting mental health and in fact through our online projects and our spiderdome bubble workshops with schools and communities we grew our reach dramatically in Cheshire, North Wales, Liverpool and throughout the UK. Recent highlights have been winning Cheshire Community Foundation Best Charity award in Cheshire West 2022 and awarded a High Sheriff award for service to the community.
