Recipient Org: Description IntoUniversity provides local learning centres in disadvantaged communities, supporting young people from the least privileged families to gain a university place or another chosen aspiration.  At each local centre we deliver an integrated programme of out-of-school study, mentoring, aspirational coaching, personal support and, in partnership with universities, specially-devised FOCUS weeks, days and weekends. At the heart of this programme is the belief that underachievement is best addressed in the context of a long-term pastoral engagement with young people, in collaboration with families and schools,  to build aspiration and improve attainment.  We start early, with students as young as seven, and continue to support through university access and beyond.IntoUniversity currently operates 31 centres and extension projects in thirteen towns and cities across the UK, supporting over 40,000 young people each year, with plans to expand our network further over the next decade.
