GASPED (360G-Coalfields-Regen-73-26127-2020-07-21)

The project will enable partnership working between Gasped and Career Cabin Castleford to extend and adapt their practical and emotional support programme during lockdown to some of the most vulnerable people living in deprived areas of Castleford for 3 months to work with 25 unemployed people to increase their ability to gain employment or volunteering opportunities. Gasped and Career Cabin have adapted the service to deliver the project through telephone advice, support and counselling. Practical support includes how to job search, CV writing, support with on-line job applications and interview skills. Emotional support includes raising people’s confidence at interviews, breaking emotional barriers when seeking employment, working with anxiety and low self-esteem, and dealing with rejection. Each participant has access to a pre-programmed mobile phone to maintain contact with the delivery staff.
