Recipient Org: Description Creative Lives is the national networking organisation promoting participation In everyday creative cultural activities. We represent approximately 63,000 voluntary arts groups and 200 umbrella bodies involving more than 10 million people who participate voluntarily in arts and crafts activities in the UK either as a member or a volunteer supporting a group. This activity is the bedrock of the cultural life of communities and a community asset to be celebrated, treasured and supported. Creative Lives was created in 1991, in response to a need identified by government and the voluntary arts sector, to provide a universal voice for the voluntary arts across the UK. Creative Lives: • provides information and advice services • delivers capacity building training • undertakes lobbying and advocacy work • delivers and supports the production of, projects which develop participation in creative cultural activities e.g. Up for Arts with BBC local radio.
