Recipient Org: Description We are the largest voluntary sector organisation supporting older people in Carlisle and Eden. We work to address the major obstacles people face in enjoying later life: poverty, social isolation and ill health. Our diverse area includes Carlisle, the largest city in Cumbria, and Eden, England’s most sparsely populated, rural district. Age UK Carlisle and Eden delivers a comprehensive range of services to thousands of older people throughout Carlisle and Eden districts, which help them to retain independence at home and promote physical and mental health and wellbeing. Each year we work with more than 4,000 older people, supported by over 100 volunteers who donate in excess of 20,000 hours a year. We deliver a range of services to create social and finacial inclusion opportunities to improve health and welbeing.
