This package of UKSPF support will comprise predominantly of additional officer resource to bolster internal capacity within Westminster City Council’s Economy & Skills and Procurement & Commercial Directorates to specifically lead on and manage this supplier readiness programme. This cross-departmental team will develop and deliver tailored guidance, support, workshops and events for local target organisations and will provide of brokerage services with strategic suppliers, anchor institutions and larger businesses based in Westminster that can offer business support. They will use an accessible supplier directory commissioned by the council, which will be added to through a programme of active outreach to new market entrants within the borough and wider London. There will be a particular focus on smaller businesses owned and led by disabled people, women and people from global majority backgrounds, as well as social enterprises and other voluntary and community sector organisations.
