North Paddington Canalside (360G-GLA-GROUP-_0174-2023-07-05)

£40,000

The Harrow Road Canalside aims to be industry-leading in improvements to open space tackling the climate emergency. An overall strategy will stitch together project sites to help keep London cool, provide shade, reduce overheating and provide wildlife habitats. The project development grant will support work on designs, surveys and community engagement, so Westminster City Council (WCC) is ready to access project funding in the future. WCC will use the funding to support an engagement exercise to formalise an outline canalside strategy for the length of canal between Little Venice and Queens Park. It will then take between 1-3 projects from this (dependent on scale) to carry out more tailored community engagement (via a working group or similar) and complete design and technical studies to develop the project(s) to RIBA Stage 3.
