Recipient Org: Description Rage Arts was set up to develop and build on the work of Rage Trust set up in 1996. Rage Arts is an educational charity creating professional productions using film, theatre and music and giving others the opportunity to take part in projects. Through our projects we equip and enable people to take the next step in their life whether that is to continue in education, seek employment or take the next step in their career. Participants gain self esteem & confidence and skills through something which is of interest to them. We work with those who are or are in danger of becoming socially disadvantaged. We work with the socially disadvantaged / those in danger of social exclusion, particularly young people (16-25) including those with learning difficulties and those not in employment, education, or training. In 2000 we started The Rage Ensemble, an amateur arts organisation, and in 2007 The Urban Film Club which gives young people the opportunity to work with and alongside professionals to create productions using film, theatre and music. Each year we introduce thousands of young people to the world of theatre through our annual touring production. A world which can inspire, make people think have a better understanding of each other and be better prepared to play an active part in their community. We assist people and organisations with their productions through providing advice, and equipment. We provide those starting out in the arts professional experience. We have twenty years’ experience of running projects which equip and enable people to play a fuller part in their community resulting in a cohesive community. We are currently in the process of developing our charity seeking to make it sustainable by evaluating & developing our work recruiting further trustees, and securring long term funding.
