Recipient Org: Description Girlguiding is the UK’s largest volunteer led organisation for girls and young women, with over 500,000 members. Girlguiding aims to provide a unique, girl only space for members to have a voice and directly influence their communities with social action and friendship. The 1st Saltley Guides are a single, self funded Girlguiding group based in Birmingham. We began in November 2013 with a view to offering Girlguiding provision in ‘hard to reach’ areas. Girlguiding is an inclusive organisation and in the culturally diverse city of Birmingham, the current membership does not reflect the demographic of local areas.
